General Information

Willamette Education Service District is accepting applications for three full-time (1.0 FTE) School Psychologist positions with the Special Education Department's Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) Evaluation and Services Program. The positions may conduct evaluations for EI and ECSE in Marion, Polk or Yamhill County depending on the need. Successful candidates will will follow a 215-day calendar, and will begin immediately upon conclusion of the hiring process.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations, including formal and informal assessments within school psychologist scope of practice for special education, interpret evaluation results, summarize findings through written and verbal means, and assist special education teams in determining educational eligibility
• Prepares organizes and maintains confidential files and student records in accordance with ESD, state and federal policies and guidelines
• Provides consultation to WESD staff, community partners, district staff, and parents regarding typical and atypical developmental, disability specific characteristics, behavior and other student needs.
• Evaluate effectiveness of behavior intervention strategies, collaborate with teams and suggest intervention strategies with a preventative focus, including comprehensive and supporting documentation as needed
• Works cooperatively with school staff and parents to develop, implement and track Individual Family Support Plans (IFSP's) to meet student learning and self-sufficiency needs
• Plans and implements service delivery models including individual, small group and classroom settings
• Maintains open communication to keep districts informed of the activities and services of the program
• Assists the EI/ECSE program and/or ESD in district-wide or countywide special projects and/or committee work.
• Coordinates and cooperates with community partners to provide services to students with self-sufficiency, behavioral, and other student needs
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• School Psychologist License issued by Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC)
• Prior school experience with a focus on Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education with evaluative experience and knowledge in Autism Spectrum Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury is preferred
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Possess reliable transportation
• Current enrollment in or ability to successfully enroll in the Office of Child Care's Central Background Registry
• Nationwide criminal history check and fingerprinting at employee's expense are required
  
  

Salary and Benefits *

• This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) licensed position represented by the Willamette Valley Education Association.
• Placement on the Willamette ESD licensed salary schedule, $51,435 - $86,077, will be commensurate with applicant's qualifications, relevant training, experience and prorated according to start date. Salary and benefits shown are based upon full-time employment (1.0 FTE) for the entire school year contract period.
• Willamette ESD will support payment for health, dental and vision insurance premiums for qualified employees. Employer-paid PERS, holidays, sick leave, and personal days are also provided to qualified employees.
