The Teacher's primary responsibility is the support of the social/emotional, physical and intellectual development of each child in alignment with Whittle School & Studios' mission and vision.At Whittle our core interdisciplinary academic experiences rigorously connect mastery to inquiry- and problem-based project work. Through individual and group projects, our core courses connect knowledge to problem-solving, presentation, and performance-making learning "sticky," or more permanent. The Mandarin-speaking Maths Teacher collaborates across subject areas to design interdisciplinary projects, personalize learning experiences to meet children's current understanding of literacy and numeracy, and incorporate student interests. Familiarity and training with the philosophies of the schools of Reggio Emilia and Project-based learning are required..

Qualifications and Attributes

The following are highly desirable qualifications for the listed position:

• Bachelor's degree BA/BS in specific field or post graduate work in subject matter required
• Master's level degree or above in content area preferred
• Linguistic proficiency in English highly desirable
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in a project-based learning, preferably in an independent school environment
• Participates in professional learning communities, grade-level teams, and other collaborative communities to design and plan instructions, to improve practice, and to achieve student outcomes

• Required teaching license or State recognised certification

• Experience teaching IGCSE, and A Level Mathematics highly desirable

•Drive and energy to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
