Located in the beautiful, historic town of Rhinebeck, just 100 miles north of New York City, The Rhinebeck Central School District is a highly rated K-12 public school district with a favorable student-teacher ratio and approximately 950 students spread across two buildings.

The new superintendent should:
- Be a leader able to implement a vision for the District and maximize the advantages of a small-school setting while strategically planning for long-term growth.
- Be a collaborative and resourceful leader who advocates for all learners and who engages staff, parents, students, and the broader community to advance the District in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Maintain, support, and strengthen instructional programs and professional development opportunities, with a strong record of accomplishment in these areas.
- Have strong curricular knowledge, be a smart risk-taker and a creative problem solver.
- Advocate for innovative instruction, curricula, and programs for all student learners, and for the establishment of a consistent technology platform for K-12 students.
- Demonstrate understanding of the interrelatedness of academics, extracurricular activities, and social and emotional growth as they collectively lead to college and career readiness and good citizenship.
- Be open-minded, compassionate, and an effective communicator who is willing to make difficult decisions while fostering a positive school climate.
- Be dynamic, energetic, and actively engaged day-to-day with the entire school community both in the classroom and at extracurricular events.
- Maintain an open-door approach and appreciate the value and voices of all contributors.
