  • POSITION INFORMATION:
    Location: Psychological Services Supervisor: Mr. Jeffrey Hart, Coordinator of Psychological Services Employment Period: 10 Months Employment Status: Temporary assignment (1 school year) Start Date: 2020/2021 school year Pay Rate: $14.78 / hour

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    It is the goal of HCS' School Psychological Services department to provide a School Psychologist Intern with a wide-ranging, useful, and professionally satisfying experience. Students applying for the School Psychologist Internship position in HCS will be expected, under supervision, to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Administer and analyze results of psycho-educational measures (i.e. cognitive, behavioral, social-emotional, adaptive, academic achievement tests, etc.) and prepare written reports in a timely manner.
    • Convey psycho-educational results to parents and school-based staff, in both written and oral form.
    • Serve on Child Find, eligibility, and crisis intervention teams.
    • Consult with teachers, school administration, and parents about students' needs and performance.
    • Conduct group or individual counseling based upon time, availability, and interest.
    • Participate on RTI, SEL, 504, or IEP teams based upon time, availability and interest.
    • Perform other related work as required or assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Completion of an approved program in School Psychology, consisting of a minimum of sixty graduate hours culminating in, at least, a Master's Degree, and be satisfying the Internship requirement of an approved program.
    • Have appropriate knowledge of psycho-educational testing, child development, and counseling/consultation, as well as skills commensurate with level of experience.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to work with students from a wide-range of demographic and socio-economic backgrounds.
    • Ability to develop effective collaborative working relationships with students, parents, teachers, and staff.
    • Ability and desire to work toward a level of independence consistent with experience and level of mastery.
