Lacrosse Specialist, Harlem Children Zone

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and execute lacrosse sports curriculum
• Teach and coach weekly lacrosse sessions
• Supervise and guide program participants
• Engage students in the world of lacrosse
• Coordinate games and special events
• Develop positive relationships with students that promotes wellness, growth, respect and dignity
• Communicate and work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Collaborate with other instructors on curriculum ideas and implementation
• Act as a positive role model for students
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements

• A commitment to the mission and programs of HCZ
• 1 year experience in teaching or coaching lacrosse; Bachelor's degree is a plus
• Must have strong classroom management skills
• Experience working with youth and adolescent population
• A commitment to teaching and providing continuity on a part time basis
• Ability to connect with and motivate students teens
• Must have strong leadership and organizational skills
• Must be able to work well within a team unit
• Ability to effectively engage students
• Must be available to work afterschool and evening hours
