The position is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops skills in Physical Education. Responsibilities
- Delivers content, concepts, skills and assessments, as designated within the Greenwich Public Schools Physical Education curriculum
- Adapts Physical Education content, materials, and methods to develop relevant, sequential lesson plans that inform, guide and challenge students
- Develops lesson plans and supplementary learning activities compatible with the departments philosophy and aligned to unit standards;
- Provides individualized, small group and large group instruction in order to meet the needs of each student
- Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, inventory checklists and other record keeping activities as necessary
- Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas
- Evaluates each student's progress in meeting the class/unit standards for Physical Education
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an effective and productive classroom environment
- Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress
- Participates in faculty obligations and the sponsorship of student activities

Qualifications
- Graduated from accredited university
- Connecticut certification (044 - Physical Education; 043 Health Education)
