ABOUT THE DISTRICT

Jeffco Public Schools, Colorado's largest K-12 school district, with 85,000 students and approximately 14,000 employees, has provided educational excellence for more than 60 years. Nearly 10 percent of all Colorado K-12 students attend a Jeffco school and our employees benefit from partnerships with experienced, dynamic school leaders throughout our district. Our Jeffco Generations vision document and strategic plan map out with focus and clarity what we expect our schools to accomplish with our graduates. Come join us!

ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Evergreen Senior High School serves approximately 1100 students in grades 9 through 12. Evergreen has a history and reputation for academic excellence, receiving a Blue Ribbon Award for academic performance in 2015. This trend continues, through the application of an academically rigorous curriculum designed to prepare students for college. Over 85% of Evergreen graduates go on to attend a 2 or 4 year post-secondary program. School culture and climate strives to support our students through the ready availability of both academic and social-emotional interventions and counseling. We staff a learning center on-site, called the Den, where any student at any time can receive on-demand academic tutoring and support. We are a Sources of Strength school, and LINK Crew school; both are comprehensive programs designed to facilitate and support positive and healthy school climate.

Our students are also very active in extracurricular activities; approximately 75% of students are involved in at least one extracurricular sport or activity. Students can choose from over 20 varsity level sports and an array of well-represented clubs and organizations. The Fine Arts and Theater Arts programs are especially successful. Our programs regularly compete and win awards such as the first ever State Improv Championship, awarded in 2017. Service leadership and opportunities are emphasized and highly valued by our community. 2019 will mark the third year of Evergreen High School's Make A Wish Week, whereby students and community raise funds to grant a wish to a local child suffering from a serious medical condition.

A dedicated faculty of teachers provide a high quality educational experience to a student population that consistently demonstrates growth and achievement. Evergreen was recently ranked the 8th best public high school in the state by a national organization. SAT and PSAT average scores are amongst the highest in Jeffco Public Schools and in the state of Colorado. Evergreen High School is working to build and offer a diversified academic program that provides opportunities for students to pursue and develop personal interests, such as the addition of a STEM diploma endorsement, a Computer Science pathway, and a senior capstone project. We here at EHS are very thankful to be a part of a local community that supports and values it's public high school, and look forward to continuing to help shape the futures of generations to come.
