Essential Functions and Objectives:

This position is accountable to ensure the quality, consistency and integrity of student data in the District's Student Information System (Infinite Campus) inclusive of traditional schools, magnet schools, and charter schools within their assigned region for ECE thru 12 grades.

The primary goal is to drive year over year improvement on student data accuracy, integrity, and consistency in the student information systems.

The team will work with management to determine priorities and changes based on impact and alignment to district and department goals.

- Monitor student data in Infinite Campus (IC) for accuracy and consistency. Data elements monitored include: student demographics, households (including student relationships and emergency contacts), addresses, English Language Acquisition, enrollment, duplicate student/people, behavior, transcripts, graduation, naming conventions, assessment and other data elements as needed.

- Utilize reports in order to identify correction action. This includes modifying and running departmental SQL reports and Infinite Campus reports.

- Mentor and train users on best practices for maintaining quality data for schools and departments. Empower school and central office staff to be responsible and accountable for their school student data.

- Create training documentation and quick reference guides around best data entry practices and data entry correction.

- Help maintain and update the Data Quality website.

- Become a subject matter expert for student data and entering processes.

- Assist school and central office stakeholders with student data opportunities; incorporate their business and reporting needs for student data.

- Proactively work to identify areas of improvement and create solutions to improve service and data accuracy.

- Identify research, prioritize and address student data issues working closely with multiple stakeholders.

- Recommend most efficient and effective process to assure student data accuracy, and integrity to schools.

- Actively support data integrity improvement efforts.

- Perform other duties as requested.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Experience with student information systems, highly preferred knowledge of Infinite Campus.

- Excellent written/verbal communication - required.

- Proven experience improving customer service and relationship building - required.

- Must thrive in a team environment and be able to work well collaborating with others.

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Knowledge of data reporting.

- Experience using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Access, and Word.

- Exceptional organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.

- Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement is preferred.

- Travel to various DPS schools is expected.

- During peak times weeknights and weekend hours will be required on occasion.

- Valid Colorado Driver's License, appropriate insurance coverage and acceptable driving record for the past three years.

- Knowledge of Microsoft applications.

- Ability to converse in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to discuss issues at a technical or non-technical level, depending on the audience.

- Ability to work effectively with staff at all levels, in all departments.

- Ability to contribute to a positive and cohesive team.

- Ability to work independently, make decisions and complete assignments.

- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize project work, at times with interruptions.

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in information systems, management, business, economics or other related field or at least 4 years of work experience in related field.
