*This role will work with the Clymer Elementary community in North Philadelphia.

Position Summary:

The Part-time Family and Community Engagement Manager

will implement Mastery's vision to deepen our partnership with parents and the broader school community. He/she will build relationships and trust allowing us to deliver a world-class neighborhood school to each family.

This staff member will build relationships with parents, connect parents with external resources to meet parent and community needs, support family trainings to drive student achievement, and serve as a primary support to the school's leadership team. The part-time Community Engagement Member will help build a base of parent leadership at the school. He/she will report directly to the Principal.

Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Support the school's vision for parent and community engagement by establishing strong ties with parents and community members
    • Act as the primary liaison between the school and our parents and broader community
    • Connect parents with external resources to meet parent and community needs
    • Support parents in navigating school procedures (e.g. specialized services, school discipline process, etc.)
    • Support coordination of all parent-facing programming (e.g. parent workshops, back to school night, etc.)
    • Support the school leadership team in effective outreach to existing families including home visits, phone calls, newsletters, events, and programming targeted to support parents
    • Support existing community partnerships
    • Represent the school/Mastery at relevant community stakeholder meetings including business associations, neighborhood advisory groups, etc.
    • Support community events and tours at the school
    • Ability to staff night and/or weekend meetings and events


Education and Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of related full-time work or experience working in an elementary education setting with parent engagement, community partnerships, or a related field
    • BA/BS preferred
    • Experience working with parents of school-age children
    • Strong relationship building and communication skills
    • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required such as maneuvering in classrooms and office space; reaching file cabinets, filing, faxing, scanning, copying, typing, mailing, and making phone calls; Must be able to sit for up to two (2) hours looking at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse.
