Status: Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide direct support to assigned schools, providing early computer software, hardware and operational problem resolution. To assist microcomputer end users with basic installation, upgrade and usage of microcomputer hardware and software applications on IBM/Compatible and Macintosh microcomputers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all microcomputer support issues (hardware and software) for the buildings assigned.
Administration of the remote site network file servers, including setting up network printing services, and backing up network servers.
Maintain Main Frame Distribution (MDF) located site log on file server, and print servers.
Troubleshoot network connection and printing-related problems.
Responsible for updating and maintaining work orders database.
Assist end users on site with basic computer operations and software usage.
Configure and install microcomputers, including the loading of operating systems (Microsoft Windows, MS DOS, and Macintosh operating systems).
Install and upgrade district approved microcomputer applications software including word processing, spread sheets, databases, presentation graphics, E-mail, and office suites.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of college/technical school/military training or two years of related education and field work experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license and provide own vehicle for transportation on the job.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with users, contemporaries and supervisors.
Demonstrated ability to install microcomputer equipment, software and station cabling.
Demonstrated knowledge of network systems in an integrated environment.
Ability to understand technical specifications and organizational policy and procedure manuals.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to be client service oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A+ certification and Apple experience highly recommended

Ability to hear and speak English clearly. Ability to view a 14” color computer monitor. This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, lift and carry boxes or equipment weighing 30 to 50 pounds.
