Special Education Compliance Coordinator

The Special Education Compliance Coordinator manages the paperwork and compliance requirements for the special education department
AS Special Education Compliance Coordinator, YOU WILL..
  • Assists with the implementation of all policies and procedures related to Special Education programs;
  • Creates and maintains relationships with State /regional/district-level special education leaders; Develops contacts with special education related service providers;
  • Requests special education records from student's resident school district and checks for compliance and currency;
  • Assists with all special education reporting, e.g. school, local, State , and federal; Works with Special Education Director, teachers and HOS on compliance-related issues;
  • Tracks and Informs teachers of compliancy dates of Individual Educational Plans (IEP); Works directly with parents and students (both regular and special education) where necessary;
  • Contacts students and families for entry MDT (our term is ARD/IEP meetings) meetings, schedules meetings, distributes IEPs and evaluations to teachers;
  • Manages class loads and teacher assignments;
  • Coordinates and organizes student special education records for partner school district.

Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; Experience using databases; Web proficiency
  • Ability to pass required background check
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Special Education Certification (All level)
  • Diagnostician Certification preferred

  • Mathematics: Ability to count accurately. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy.

REQUIRED COMPUTER AND OTHER EQUIPMENT/DEVICE SKILLS:
  • Computers/Peripherals/Other Office Machines:Computer
  • Computer Software: Electronic Mail Software (Microsoft Outlook preferred); Spreadsheet and Word Processing Software, (Microsoft Excel and Word preferred); Database Software; Web proficiency.
  • Other Tools/Devices/Machines (including Vehicles): No other tools, devices or machines are required in order to perform the essential functions of the position.
