FuelEducation - Academic Advisor

This position requires 20 hours (4 hours daily) of flexible day-time availability between the hours of 9am - 5pm EST. This position can NOT be done in connjuction with a full-time day job (another part-time day job could be possible).

Fuel Education (FuelEd) is dedicated to providing flexible, personalized pre-K to 12th grade online learning solutions. Academic Mentor/Advisor Responsibilities Include:

• Working directly with assigned students and families to promote engagement and achievement;

• Serving as a liaison between the student and other academic teachers and administration;

• Examining academic progress and attendance activity of students on their caseload on a regular basis;

• Creating individualized plans for struggling students;

• Communicating deadlines and grades to students, as well as "points to pass" or other pertinent information;

• Tracking and reporting academic dishonesty issues to parents and administrators;

• Initiating recurring communication with students and families when students begin showing signs of failure/struggle as determined by grades, missed log-ins, course activity, and number of missing assignments.

• Be available to attend meetings, host homeroom session and actively participate in professional development • Other duties as determined by contracted client needs
Requirements
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: Candidates are required to have (and maintain) State teacher certifications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Minimum six (6) months of student teaching experience
• Must be able to complete and clear FL fingerprint/badge clearance
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience in a customer service environment
• Strong written/verbal communication skills
• Must be available between the hours of 9am - 5pm EST

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with online teaching and supporting adults and children in the use of technology
• Three (3) years of teaching experience.
