Position Summary:

The Recruitment Manager will ensure that the most effective, outcomes-oriented and mission-aligned educators join the staff of Mastery Charter Schools. The Recruitment Manager will support teacher hiring in Mastery's network of middle and high schools in Philadelphia. They will execute and maintain a high-caliber staff hiring process, including application screening, interviewing, supporting campus hiring managers, and matriculating candidates. Operating with both a critical eye and a customer service-driven mindset, they will cultivate strong applicant sources, manage relationships with top prospective applicants, and guide candidates through the selection and hiring process. They will train extensively in Mastery's teacher selection process and work towards fully managing teacher recruitment needs at a subset of secondary campuses. They will work to develop strategic partnerships with school leaders at those campuses to understand the vision and direction of our schools and the teacher talent needed to achieve this vision.

Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Support secondary teacher pipeline management by conducting a rigorous, competency-aligned, and efficient selection process for prospective staff
    • Manage excellent communication with candidates and schools through regular touch points that are marked by transparency, honesty and a "talent advocate" mindset
    • Partner with Mastery's Outreach Team to execute sourcing strategies to ensure a strong pipeline of mission-aligned, highly effective middle and high school teachers
    • After a successful sourcing and selection training period, assume the management of a portfolio of 5-8 secondary schools in Mastery's Philadelphia network. Serve as an effective talent partner by building strong relationships with principals and hiring managers to get to know and accurately represent the unique opportunities of each campus.
    • Supporting campus hiring managers with scheduling and facilitating interviews and demonstration lessons for finalist candidates
    • Coordinate efforts to ensure that offers are accepted and are prepared to join the Mastery team
    • Acting as a representative of Mastery Schools at targeted events, and speaking compellingly and factually about Mastery's history and mission
    • Supporting recruitment events, including networking events, selection days, and career fairs
    • Some evening and weekend commitments
    • Travel to Mastery's campuses weekly and scheduled career fairs


Qualifications:
    • Outstanding detail-orientation and organization skills
    • Strong customer service and communication skills - stands out to applicants for their timeliness, sparkling communication, and impeccable follow through
    • Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize a high volume of work with consistency and urgency
    • Solutions oriented proactive problem solver
    • Can operate effectively both independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced working environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Exposure to applicant tracking systems is a plus
    • Entrepreneurial zeal and a sense of humor strongly preferred
    • Hungry for feedback and opportunities to learn and grow as a talent professional
    • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills


Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field required
    • 1-2 years of recruitment or relevant professional experience preferred
    • Teaching experience highly preferred
    • Experience in urban education and/or non-profit sector a plus
