POSITION : The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
DIRECTOR OF CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY
RESPONSIVE INITIATIVES (CLRI) APPLICATION :

QUALIFICATIONS :
Candidates must hold a Master's degree, and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA/SDL) or a New York State School Supervisor (SAS) certificate by the time of appointment. It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or screen shot of their certification(s). Candidates must have a minimum of five years combined certificated teaching and school administration or supervisory experience with a minimum of one year at the supervisory level. Candidates with prior leadership experience in an urban school district or in a district with an urban population are preferred, as are candidates who are proficient in the Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Teaching Practices

Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Initiatives, the Director of Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Initiatives will:
APPOINTMENT : Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service.

DUTIES :
Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Initiatives, the Director of Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Initiatives will:
- Oversee the implementation of the My Brother's Keeper Male Academy, Our Story Project and other CLRI student based initiatives and programs;
- Supports schools in developing building level CLRT action plans;
- Facilitate professional development and training related to the implementation of the CLRI Strategic plan;
- Direct, organize and facilitate staff development, and project based CLRI learning opportunities;
- Administer CLRI school based programs and Saturday Academies;
- Assist in the implementation of CLRI practices in all schools;
- Collect instructional evidence/artifacts to show integration of CLRI into the school culture;
- Coordinate and collect data on CLRI school building walkthroughs to monitor district progress of teachers and principals which demonstrate an increase in knowledge and abilities regarding CLRI;
- Develop Board recommendations for approved projects and purchases;
- Prepare and ensure timely submission of reports;
- Participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill responsibilities of related work;
- Direct CLRI TOSA's work to coach and support the use of CLRT instructional practices covered in the professional development sessions;
- Direct CLRT curriculum committees to identify supplemental materials and develop pertinent curriculum resources aligned to the practices of culturally and linguistically responsive teaching;
- Work with CAI Multilingual Directors, Supervisors and curriculum committees to update and integrate District curriculum to reflect cultural inclusion;
- Carry out the responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent, his designee, or the Associate Superintendent for CLRT;
- Other duties as assigned.
