The Senior Director, Affinity Marketing and Strategy is responsible for leading the company's efforts in expanding the reach and audiences using K12's educational products and services. Initial focus will be supporting the Hispanic community and will expand to other demographic segments that may be under served by our national marketing efforts. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Senior Director is responsible for developing a go-to-market strategy and execution plan for target demographic segments. The individual in this key role will be responsible for market and competitive analysis, market and customer research, product offering definition, product development, systems development, pricing, messaging, marketing communications, sales channel enablement, and product launch. Typical initiatives include launching new products to market, performing market/competitive research, and delivering collateral and other sales tools.
AS Senior Director, Affinity Marketing and Strategy, YOU WILL..
  • Develop a go-to-market strategy and execution plan for target demographic segments, focusing first on the Hispanic market;
  • Leads definition of profile, size, and unique needs of target segments, including buyer and user personas and key product use cases;
  • Monitors trends in all applicable sectors, surfacing implications for product and systems development, and appropriately identifying opportunities for business development activities to advance overall portfolio strategies;
  • Oversees definition and implementation of customer experience for all products assuming end-to-end responsibility;
  • Works closely with Marketing Communications, Programs and Product Management in developing detailed product marketing launch plans;
  • Drives the creation of tools that can be used by Marketing and Sales in promoting products externally, such as sales presentations and product collateral, working closely with Marketing Communications;
  • Researches competitors and related market factors that impact product packaging;
  • Supports assessment of new product/services initiatives, working closely with Product Management;
  • Identifies primary and secondary research needed to better understand prospect and customer needs, new product opportunities, key customer segments, messaging, market size and trends;
  • Drives competitive analysis required to optimize product positioning and pricing efforts.
    Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities, though support for these efforts will come from internal marketing teams and external marketing agencies.

Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or other relevant field of study AND
  • Fifteen (15) years of progressive responsibility within the fields of marketing, product marketing and/or product management with no less than five (5) of those years specific to product marketing and/or product management AND
  • Direct to consumer marketing experience in the Hispanic segment and ability to read, write and speak fluently in Spanish, OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results through matrix teams/organizational structure
  • Experience with marketing attribution
  • Digital and offline marketing experience
  • Product management experience
  • Experience with Scrum/agile teams and processes
  • Ability to interpret A/B testing results
  • Financial analysis, particularly NPV based approaches
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 25%-50% of the time depending on the work location
  • Ability to pass required background check
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience applying data science to student outcomes data in order to identify "intervention" moments and design intervention options
  • A/B testing experience. Experience with Orthogonal and Fractional Factorial.

  • This is an office-based position. The noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic). OR
