Role Mission: The EIR Project Manager will lead the planning, execution and evaluation of targeted strategies facilitated by IDEA's Education Innovation & Research (EIR) Grant with the goal of increased student achievem ent.

Accountabilities

1. Lead grant team to achieve 85% of EIR annual project goals in grant year 1.
  • Define goals and hold team accountable to reporting out monthly on leading indicator data (this data will be used to identify critical next steps/new strategies).
  • Establish an advisory group to provide strategic insight and support for grant initiatives by deadline .
  • Communicate with IDEA senior leaders about overall progress and engage as needed to provide guidance or accountability.
  • Develop a draft project sustainability framework by the beginning of grant year 2.

2. 90% of EIR project budget-expenditures alignment in FY '19- 20.

  • Hold business team partners accountable to the goal through active monitoring, probing questions, and facilitated decision-making, as needed.
  • Define gaps in current financial management practices and inform key partners of those gap s.
  • Design and monitor restorative structures to address 90% of gaps by quarter 3.

3. 100% of EIR external communications, primarily the Annual Performance Report, are published on-time and meet 100% of specified requirements.
  • Develop and manage the RASI plan to facilitate execution of the Annual Performance Report (APR) by date specified by the US Department of Education.
  • Invest key stakeholders in their individual roles and responsibilities to execute the APR.
  • Regularly and clearly communicate timelines and provide supportive structures (e.g., template development, in-person drafting meetings) to facilitate completion of deliverables by key stakeholders.
  • Communicate all questions in a timely manner to the US Department of Education to ensure continuous progress .
  • Respond within 24 hours to all requests for information from the US Department of Education , other grantees, or affiliated individuals/organizations.

4. Lead grant team/partners to pilot a new high school model at two IDEA high schools with opportunities for paid student internships in STEM.

  • Develop and manage the RASI plan to facilitate execution of the internship requirement.
  • Work with grant team contributors to identify and select two campuses for the STEM pilot.
  • Onboard STEM pilot campuses and establish operating mechanisms to support and manage campus leaders to meet grant deadlines, deliverables and milestones.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with organizations to support student internships.
  • Report on student progress and academic impact to evaluate future expansion of program .

5. Lead grant to team/contributors to ensure that 33% of all (23,800) high school students take AP Computer Science Principles by the end of the grant period.
  • Support Math/Computer Science team to identify, evaluate, select and distribute core AP Computer Science curriculum.
  • Hold AST business team partners accountable to the goal through active monitoring, probing questions, and facilitated decision-making, as needed.
  • Manage external evaluator partners to conduct evaluations, meet deadlines and communicate findings and progress with stakeholders.
  • Review and communicate evaluation results.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years of teaching experience; 3+ years of school leadership or other administrative experience
  • Proven track record of achieving success and of leading others

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills with large groups as well as with individuals are essential .
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Persuasiveness and perseverance in attaining goals.

  • Flexibility and a willingness to take on new tasks as the responsibilities of the position evolve .
