Department Description:
The Academic Validation Program Coordinator supports the Prince George's County Public School's (PGCPS) academic validation program initiatives throughout the academic school year and the summer. The incumbent of this position also supports implementation of the program in all participating schools, including providing policies and procedures towards developing an exceptional testing support program in all secondary schools.
Brief Description:
This is an ASASP Unit II Table F Grade 2 Position
Salary Range: $86,858 - 123,838

Detailed Description:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Serves as the liaison between PGCPS and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Bridge Program; attends MSDE Bridge Program meetings;
Facilitates development and execution of the Academic Validation Program (AVP) to all high schools in the district based on MSDE Bridge Program policies and procedures;
Collaborates with the Office of Curriculum and Instruction in the development of PARCC AVP plans in English, Math and LSN Government;
Works with the Testing Office to monitor students completion of testing graduation requirements through the district's test monitoring database;
Manages the day-to-day administration of the Academic Validation Program for student acquisition, program operations, and student management; serves as a liaison between the Area Office and all participating schools;
Coordinates and provides professional development for school-based AVP coordinators and project monitors;
Coordinates and supervises the monthly AVP scoring sessions;
Responds to administrative and student inquiries regarding issues related to the administration of the program;
Monitors quality assurance and implements controls for all bridge program initiatives;
Maintains documentation and program records; creates and maintains a database of students requirements and completion data;
Gathers, analyzes and presents data regarding the AVP programs to district leadership and MSDE;
Provides special project office support;
Provides administrative support to school principals, coordinators, and teachers as needed;
Works with the Summer Programs Office to coordinate and supervise the summer AVP bridge program; and
Performs related work as required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in education or a related field required. Three (3) years of experience coordinating testing programs and Academic Validation Programs for high school students required.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Holds a valid Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate with the Administrator I endorsement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
