High school science experience preferred; experience working in a PLC also a plus; Bachelor of Arts degree or higher; Certification in the State of Iowa to teach 9-12 Science; preference given to applicants that have prior experience teaching high school level science; proven experience increasing student achievement for all learners (general education, special education, ELL); contribute to increased student achievement through effective instructional strategies; collaborate and analyze student data/work samples with colleagues during PLCs; contribute to a positive school climate; a strong knowledge of curriculum content; grasp of NGSS and 3-dimensional teaching; uses a wide range of instructional strategies including inquiry methods; preference will be given to candidates who have strong lab skills; interested in working on district science leadership teams, experience with a variety of assessment methods, and has experience with technology and our 1:1 initiative.
