We are currently seeking a College Readiness Manager to lead the College Readiness Team at HCZ. The ideal candidate will be experienced in developing course curriculum, organizing program events, and leading trainings that promote a college-going culture throughout the organization. The College Readiness Manager will create and manage partnerships with various colleges to ensure a smooth transition for our HCZ Promise Academy scholars.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise college readiness specialists and ensure team utilizes best practices
  • Develop college readiness strategies, policies and procedures
  • Develop all Advance to Start College Readiness Curriculum for K-12
  • Develop family engagement workshops to promote college awareness
  • Develop and implement college matching, admissions, and college success trainings and professional development for high school site college coordinators and counselors
  • Provide comprehensive workshops that target the following non-cognitive abilities: positive behavior, perseverance, mindset, social skills, student engagement, and learning strategies
  • Remain abreast of trends in higher education, college access, and college admissions to ensure timely and relevant information is shared with Promise, Zone, students, families, and organizational leadership
  • Coordinate program events such as the Annual College Expo, CHECS College Signing Day, Senior Week, Parent Financial Aid Night, On-Site FAFSA nights, and other high school to college transition programs
  • Build relationships with colleges and universities to develop admission processes specific to our students
  • Work, in conjunction with Data, to track trends in college admission and graduation success rates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or related social services field preferred
  • At least two-three years of experience in college admissions, college counseling, student advising, and of data-driven methods to increase student admission to and matriculation into college
  • Knowledge of admissions and enrollment policies, alternative programs/vocational studies
  • Knowledge of higher education, financial aid, and postsecondary education
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the program including evening, and some weekends
  • Passion for and commitment to the mission of the Harlem Children's Zone
