ABOUT THE DISTRICT

Jeffco Public Schools, Colorado's largest K-12 school district, with 85,000 students and approximately 14,000 employees, has provided educational excellence for more than 60 years. Nearly 10 percent of all Colorado K-12 students attend a Jeffco school and our employees benefit from partnerships with experienced, dynamic school leaders throughout our district. Our Jeffco Generations vision document and strategic plan map out with focus and clarity what we expect our schools to accomplish with our graduates. Come join us!

ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT

Jeffco preschools have a continuum of support to meet a student's individual needs and vary by site. The type of support, amount of service minutes, and accommodations required are determined by a student's IEP (Individualized Education Program) team.

Currently, there are 45 preschool sites across the district. Preschool is available to students who are 3 and 4 years old. Students who qualify for special education services attend 4 days a week (Tuesday - Friday) at least 2.5 hours per day to access a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). There are several preschool sites that offer a full day or modified programming with extended hours.

ABOUT YOU

Jeffco is a learning organization in which all staff must grow in their capacity to support and educate all students including those with special needs. Special Education professionals are committed to providing equal educational opportunities for students with disabilities who have the right, and deserve the opportunity, to meet the challenging expectations that have been established for their non-disabled peers. Highly efficacious educators understand that their knowledge and skills can assist students in overcoming educational barriers. Maintaining a strong academic focus with quality instruction including frequent progress monitoring produces more successful outcomes for all students. A robust continuum of services driven by student needs is essential.
