Whittle School & Studios is an ambitious project to modernize education and build the world's best and most innovative environment for human learning and development. Over the next decade we will be constructing 30 Pre-K-12 schools in the world's most vibrant cities, with all of our campuses designed by the renowned architect Renzo Piano.  The project is led by education entrepreneur Chris Whittle. Our first two schools opened in the fall of 2019, located in Shenzhen, China, and Washington DC, United States.

The mission of our Studios Program  is to create a warm and supportive environment for students, beyond the regular school day. We support parents, faculty, and staff and their children , by offering extended day programming, enrichment courses, and a robust summer experience . Our environment promotes positive development and learning, based on the strengths, interests, and needs of individual students.  
The Position - Studios Program Coordinator
The Studios Program Coordinator provides support and guidance to the three core areas of Studios programming: StudioCare extended day, StudioEnrichment courses, and StudioSummer programs. The ideal candidate is skilled at developing and maintaining a mutually supportive, professional relationship with parents, sharing information with families at pick up, and using good judgment to escalate concerns to the Director and General Manager of Studios. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Mornings:  
  • Respond to StudioSummer inquiries by phone and email  
  • Coordinate the hiring process and recruitment for summer camp staff and occasional outreach to local organizations to increase StudioSummer enrollment.  
  • Provide administrative support for StudioSummer opening activities as needed.  
  • May include some development of summer curriculum and marketing materials.  
Afternoons:  
  • Serve as "Administrator on Duty" for StudioCare and StudioEnrichment programs, weekdays from 2:00 - 6:30 p.m., ensuring the daily operations are running smoothly .  
  • Provide support, documentation, and communication for all first aid occurrences and behavior incidents that occur across all program areas.  
  • Lead the development of weekly StudioCare activities and guide staff on implementation.  
  • Under the oversight of the Director of Operations, ensure accurate daily StudioCare a nd StudioEnrichment a ttendance and record keeping. May eventually assume registrar and student account servicing functions, as online systems are implemented to facilitate registration and billing.   
Desired Qualifications
  • Actively pursuing a college-level degree. BA/BS in education (or related field) strongly preferred  
  • Linguistic proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or Spanish highly desirable   
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with children in a supervised childcare setting , past management role/experience highly desirable  
  • Drive and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced, creative, and dynamic environment  
  • Passion for superb customer service, attention to detail and ability to work with children of different ages, families and staff  
  • Capacity to grow professionally, as the role and program grows in scale  
Work Hours
  • Weekdays from 10:00 a.m.. - 6:30 p.m. 
  • Occasional early morning coverage from 6:45 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. needed.  
  • Occasional staffing coverage during pre-scheduled school closure days (faculty PD days, holidays, vacations, etc.) per school calendar.
