The Office of Diverse Learner Supports and Services provides the tools and resources to ensure that all diverse learners receive a high quality public education that prepares students for success.

ODLSS is responsible for student evaluations, creating and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and working with schools, staff, and families to fulfill these plans towards greater student development and achievement. ODLSS uses a data-driven approach to best support the needs of each individual student, and does so in compliance with federal and state regulations regarding special education, including the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Our new MHP Project Manager will...

  • Lead the implementation of grant activities, identify and pursue new partners and supporters, and interface across disciplines and departments to achieve grant objectives

  • Synthesize information on progress, setbacks, and significant milestones within the grant management plan

  • Inform the Chief Talent Officer and Chief Officer of Diverse Learner Support and Services about developments within the grant program areas regularly

  • Collaborate with Chiefs, school leaders and central office staff to develop and oversee evaluation strategies for programming and grants necessary to advance the MHP grant vision, policy and strategic goals

  • Produce high-quality summaries, presentations, and reports for a variety of audiences

  • Superior organizational/project management skills and attention to detail

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, combined with strong initiative and a team player attitude

  • Ability to communicate and build trusting relationships with a broad cross-section of stakeholders



Qualifications...

  • 5+ years experience leading effective teams, preference for in an educational setting

  • Two years or more of grant implementation experience required

  • Nursing or Healthcare related experience preferred

  • Bachelor's and Advanced degree from an accredited university



Residency Expectation...

  • As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), an employee must be an actual resident of the City of Chicago or be willing to become a resident within six months of the date of his/her employment with Chicago Public Schools.
