Job Description
Boston Public Schools seeks a Program Manager. The person will report to: Executive Director, Excellence For All

Boston Public Schools seeks a skilled Program Manager to work in Excellence For All. The Excellence for All (EFA) initiative is rooted in our deep belief in the potential of all students to meet high expectations. The Program Manager will work with 13-15 EFA schools to implement all EFA enrichment programs. The individual will design, implement, and manage EFA programs including Scholars, STEM, and Capstone showcases. The Manager will also liaise with the Director of World Language to implement World Language in EFA schools.

We seek a highly effective candidate with a track record of successful project management. The candidate must be committed to the belief in the potential of all students, the use of culturally and linguistically sustaining practices as a foundation for all work, and be committed to the ideals of collaboration and innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design of summer professional development, manage logistics for PD and ensure follow-up
  • Assist in the design of year-long professional development, manage logistics for PD and ensure follow-up
  • Manage the Excellence for All STEM Program including oversight of instructors, establishing program infrastructures, and designing their professional development experiences for instructors and school teachers. Collaborate with other offices to re-design the STEM curriculum and calendar.
  • Manage collaborative work with partner offices, create a work plan, and ensure timely implementation of all agreed upon tasks.
  • Create and manage the EFA communications plan

Qualifications - Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Experience with project management
  • Knowledge of the Massachusetts Standards for Professional Development and understanding of professional development design
  • Experience managing the design process for professional development
  • Understanding of data-informed decision-making to improve project outcomes
  • Ability to problem solve and analyze difficult contexts
  • Great oral and written communication skills

Qualifications - Preferred:
  • Experience working with teachers and administrators
  • Understanding of the adult learner
  • Experience working for a large urban school district
  • Graduate degree
TERMS: Managerial. City of Boston Residency required.
