Job Description
JOB GOAL:
1. CBIP paraprofessionals will support special education students with social/emotional disabilities in a special education substantially separate classroom, as well as inclusion settings throughout the school day.
2. CBIP paraprofessionals will provide behavioral and academic support to CBIP students and will work under the direction of the special education teacher, consultants, related service providers, and in collaboration with other paraprofessionals and school based personnel to meet the goals and objectives of students' IEPs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Student supports may include:
a. Addressing safety needs as it relates to behavior management
b. Supporting the development of social and emotional skills and the ability for CBIP students to self-manage their behaviors in the least restrictive environment.
c. Provide academic and sensory support to individuals or groups of students within the CBIP.
2. Paraprofessionals in this role must be trained or willing to be trained to follow established behavior plans that will require the ability to de-escalate behavior, deliver reinforcements and consequences, and collect all types of behavioral data.
3. Paraprofessional duties will require the ability to physically intervene with CBIP students in accordance with program guidelines to ensure the safety of both students and staff. Physical intervention will include the ability to escort students and physically restrain students who are in danger to themselves or others. All physical intervention techniques are in accordance with CPI protocols and procedures.
4. Paraprofessionals in this role will be expected to review student IEPs with teachers on a regular basis and employ universal precautions related to health and hygiene

Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of 48 college credits
2. Passed the Para Pro test
3. Experience working with children in an educational setting
4. Experience with and/or the ability to become CPI trained
