    Cincinnati Public Schools invites applications for the position of Director - Early Childhood Education
    Responsible for Preschool expansion of program opportunities, program development, implementation, evaluation toward Kindergarten Readiness.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Certification: Valid Ohio Administrative Certificate (Master's Degree)
    Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a teacher, or in a teacher related position, and five years of administrative experience in the area of Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education. Quality Improvement trained.

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:
    • Knowledge of compliance and regulations at federal, state and local levels as related to Early Childhood
    • Familiar with the Ohio Department of Education policies and State Legislation
    • Ability to plan, collaborate and implement best practices with internal and external departments and partnerships
    • Positively represents and promotes Cincinnati Public Schools Preschool expansion, programming and collaborations within Cincinnati Public Schools boundaries
    • Knowledge of district strategic plan
    • Is able to work well with diverse populations
    • Has excellent command of oral and written English language
    • Manages Early Childhood staff and programs
    • Has expertise in state and federal budgets, prepares and monitors budgets, including expenditures, purchasing and inventory of materials and equipment for Early Childhood
    • Knowledge of Social Emotional learning, PBlS and strategies to increase parent involvement
    • Knowledge to align preschool program for Kindergarten Readiness

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Plan, design and implement professional development for Preschool staff and compliance
    • Collaborated with Cincinnati Preschool Promise Board, Executive Director and staff
    • Coordinate district Preschool literacy materials to align to the district goals
    • Analyze Preschool literacy data
    • Participate and provide updates to CPS Board regarding Workforce Development Committee
    • Address compliance issues and develop confidence of funders in order to bring in more resources to the district for early childhood education purposes
    • Coordinate planning, implementation and evaluation of the health, social services, nutrition, parent involvement and education components to assure compliance with Federal and Ohio Department of Education guidelines
    • Consult with principals and other administrators on the organization and ongoing operations of the Early Childhood Education program in order to make early childhood programs an integral part of schools
    • Knowledge of community needs, to match district resources to address preschool educational programming
    • Develop pathways to remove barriers for preschool transition to Kindergarten
    • Develop and collaborate to implement Quality Improvement Projects based on data
    • Develop, plan, create and implement Early Childhood Education processes and procedures
    • Increase training and support for early childhood practitioners to improve quality of Early Childhood programs
    • Serve as technology, data and records liaison to ITM and other departments for preschool programs
    • Perform additional responsibilities as required


    CONTRACT PROVISIONS
    Type Contract: Limited 261 days
    Salary Grade: Director I - per CAAS Agreement
