QUALIFICATIONS:

• Appropriate New York State Teaching Certification (Students with Disabilities Generalist 5-9 or 7-12)
• Must have the ability to work with students that require a highly structured self-contained classroom (Middle School State Assessed Program, 8-1-2 Therapeutic Setting)
• Must have the ability to work as a larger team and lead their classroom to coordinate several related services and support staff members
• Excellent written, verbal and listening skills
• Up-to date knowledge and understanding of the Next Generation Learning Standards
• Understanding of, and the ability to contribute to the writing of IEP's, FBA's and CIP's
• Knowledge and understanding of the identification of student-specific data collection and use to inform instructional planning and decisions
• Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention preferred
• Prior teaching experience preferred
