JOB TITLE : Resource Teacher, Professional Learning - 12 Month - Organizational Development

REPORTS TO : Supervisor, Professional Learning

SUMMARY :
The resource teacher will support the implementation of the Professional Learning initiatives.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :

Assists in planning and providing system-wide and school-based professional development for S.T.A.T. Teachers and Department Chairs.

Assists to provide support to schools and offices during program implementation.

Plans and provides professional development on processes for collaboration among teachers, including professional learning communities, grade level teams, and department meetings.

Plans and provides professional development on coaching and mentoring skills for teachers and administrators.

Prepares data and related materials for various presentations and reports in accordance with system guidelines and protocols.

Utilizes the professional development cycle website and related resources to plan, schedule, deliver and evaluate all professional development.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Experience, Education and Training;
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Three years successful teaching/leadership experience in a PreK-12 public education setting preferred.

Licenses and Certificates :

Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Standard Professional Certificate.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Strong knowledge of the processes for collaboration among teachers, such as professional learning communities
Skill in planning and facilitating professional development activities related to teacher collaboration
Knowledge of and skill in the use of database, internet, spreadsheet, presentation, word processing, and related applications. Knowledge of and skill in data analysis.
Demonstration of strong human relations skills. Demonstration of effective organization and communication skills.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
This position is generally sedentary and performed in an office environment. Work includes the operation of office equipment, including personal computers, and occasional limited physical activities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Requires travel to schools and offices throughout Baltimore County.

FLSA : Exempt

Eligible for membership in the Maryland State Retirement System.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • All persons employed by the Baltimore County Public Schools, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (State of Maryland, Senate Bill 315, effective October 1, 1986) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $81.00 An identification card will be issued which must be shown prior to employment.
  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
  • If you have military experience you will be asked to provide a copy of DD214.
  • Official transcripts for all higher education must be received prior to contract signing.
  • Some positions will require employees to undergo a physical examination and/or drug testing.
  • All newly hired personnel must attend a Badges and Benefits session.
  • Additional job verification will be required for salary credit.
