Job Description

We are looking for someone with an aptitude for and experience with information technology of all sorts. This individual should have excellent communication skills and possess a strong commitment to growing personally and professionally. The ideal candidate will respond well when given specific tasks to complete. However, he/she should also be highly motivated and seek out ways to contribute and add value to our team.

Job Summary: The Technical/Computer Support Specialist provides for the computer and technology needs of district employees through maintenance of equipment, acquisition of equipment and component parts, assistance and/or instruction with district employees relating to technology, and troubleshooting various equipment, systems and networks. Functions may vary between department specialists based on their individual assignment.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Utilize ticketing system to field, record and document problem resolutions for employees. Answer calls and offer remote support to our employees.Recognize IT needs, provide solutions related to the use of desktop software, hardware and common systems for district employees and students with special emphasis in instructional technologies.Educate users on how to efficiently use software, services and systems with the goal to empower them to be self-sufficient.Communicate with and support activities of fellow IT staff members.Help plan and manage the procurement, maintenance and disposition of obsolete computer equipment. Accurately record and track current IT assets at least annually.Demonstrate a strong commitment to continually learning professionally and growing personally.Maintains computers, software and network systems for a variety of district sites and programs for the purpose of ensuring appropriate access to technology for district employees and students.Troubleshoots computers, peripherals and networks as needed and/or on a routine basis for the purpose of maintaining technology access for district employees and students.Provides both on site and off site maintenance and repair of district computer equipment for the purpose of maintaining technology access for district employees and students.Assists and instructs staff or selected students regarding technology issues for the purpose of providing support and reinforcement of district objectives.Recommends to administration appropriate computer equipment or software purchases for the purpose of maintaining technology access for district employees and students.Other duties as assigned.

  • Two-five years experience with Microsoft client operating systems.Two-five years experience with Mac client operating systems.Two-five years experience PC/MAC break/fix skills and problem solving abilitiesTwo-five years experience using Active Directory and performing basic user management tasksTwo-five years experience with Office products suites and equivalent Outlook versionsExperience with remote desktop supportExperience with group policy (or other mechanisms) deploymentStrong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and schedule work appropriately, while dealing with interruptions and emergency situationsDemonstrated ability to work with as a team toward common goalsAbility to work safely and professionally in classroom environments serving children and youth with disabilitiesExperience with enterprise A/V solutions

Education (preferred)

This position is a temporary position and paid by timecard.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day
