BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to work with a diverse student population that requires constant administrative attention to student needs and general management
STATE REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Follow teacher job description pertaining to State requirements/qualifications. Must have a minimum of 3-5 years special education experience, experience working with parents, decision making experience with parents and teachers, team leader or department chair experience, division level committee experience.
Knowledge of multiple content, PWPS curriculum, public school mission, goals, and organization, ability to work with instructional consultant, ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs, ability to utilize multi-media and computer technology, as appropriate, ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, principal, and parents, skill in oral and written communication, excellent human relations skills

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES/ILLUSTRATIVE EX OF WORK:
1. Monitor and coordinate all special education in the building. Organize, schedule and coordinate all IEP's, child study plans, FBA's and eligibilities. 2. Oversee all special education case managers, to ensure all Prince William policies and procedures are followed. 3. Oversee and implement all county and state testing policies. 4. Work with the principal in implementing and improving the school wide discipline plan. 5. Teacher in charge of the building when the principal is out of the building. 6. Mentor new teachers on instructional strategies and classroom management. 7. Aid and assist the principal with desegregating data and developing and implementing effective school wide programs. 8. Work with the principal to plan and implement the vision of the school and school division.
