Job Description:

Camelot Education is a nationally recognized organization providing educational services to children and adolescents throughout the United States. Camelot has over 40 school campuses located in six states and is continuing to grow. Camelot provides Alternative Education services to inner city schools for children who need extra supports.

Our Excel Academy South campus is one of our programs that addresses the growing problem of overage under credit and at-risk high school students. Students range from grades 9-12, and are supported by a team of professionals that include leadership positions, credentialed teachers and behavior management professionals.

We are recruiting creative, compassionate, support staff and educators to join our staff, who are eager to help our students excel academically and achieve post-secondary success. We are currently accepting applications for a temporary School Building Custodian for an employee who is currently out on a leave of absence.

The School Building Custodian performs and oversees a variety of janitorial, custodial, and/or security tasks to maintain clean and safe buildings and grounds necessary for an efficient operation of the school campuses; to assist administration and staff in meeting its obligations in accordance with the mission of Camelot Education.



The School Building Custodian also performs moderate to heavy manual labor, which includes the cleaning of school campus facilities, grounds keeping, moving of equipment and furniture, locking doors and other entrances and reporting unusual events to management and Public Safety personnel as appropriate. Public contact is moderate to extensive, primarily involving staff and students for the purpose of exchanging procedural information concerning cleaning needs and facility set-ups. A limited to moderate degree of independent judgment and creativity are required to perform routine cleaning and general maintenance assignments that are well prescribed.

Experience and Skills:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Combination of training and experience equivalent to successful custodial experience that has included demonstrated skill in the use of safety procedures, cleaning equipment, solutions and supplies, including applicable chemicals
• Experience in the operation of common mechanical and electrical equipment related to building and facility cleaning and general maintenance
• Demonstrated skill in following oral and written instructions, and attention to detail
• Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License (or the ability to obtain one) and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required
