Instructor I
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Passing score on the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment (KPA) or 48 college semester hours.
- Successful experience with children
- Experience in working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.
- Program specific certfications/training
- Effective communication skills
If your highest education is High School or GED you must take and pass the Kentucky Paraeducational Assessment Exam. The exam is free and you have three chances to obtain a passing score. Click KPA Study Guide

Instructor II
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or approved equivalent training (64 college semester hours) and experience
- One year successful experience with children
- Experience in working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.

- Effective communication skills
Instructor III
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Three years successful experience with children
- Experience in working with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.

A message for current JCPS Full-Time Instructors
Applications from current JCPS employees already in full-time Instructor positions will not be accepted. Current Instructors will use the transfer process to move to lateral positions for the 2018/19 School Year which is open annually March-April. Human Resources is not able to make placements of Overstaffed or Laid-off Instructors but they are welcome to apply.
