Job Description:

Camelot Education is excited about continuing our school in partnership with Richmond Public Schools. This campus is an alternative education transitional program for Middle School & High School students, Grades 6-12. Students are supported by a team of professionals that includes credentialed teachers and behavior management professionals. The focus of these programs will be to keep students on track to graduate and to successfully transition back to their regular campus to achieve success.

We are recruiting creative, compassionate, caring educators to join our staff, eager to help our students excel academically and achieve post-secondary success. We are currently accepting applications for a Long-Term Substitute English Teacher position to cover for an employee who is out on a leave of absence.

Our Teachers are responsible for designing and providing instruction in accordance with curriculum planning and timing guidelines. Teachers also conduct frequent and appropriate assessments to determine student understanding. They work closely with other instructional staff, support staff and administration with a focus on producing favorable academic outcomes and a positive school climate.

Camelot Education is a nationally recognized organization providing educational services to children and adolescents throughout the United States. Camelot has over 40 school campuses located in six states and is continuing to grow. Camelot provides Alternative Education services to inner city schools for children who have dropped out of school, been expelled or at risk for either.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current Virginia Teaching Certificate with English endorsement
  • One year experience working with at-risk youth preferred
  • Proven ability and working knowledge with Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and supervisory skills preferred
