Coaching and Curriculum Specialist
  
The Opportunity: Coaching and Curriculum Specialist leads and facilitates change in the instructional practices of
Chavez teachers that will result in improved outcomes for all scholars,
increased growth and retention of teachers, and the development of a
professional learning community across the school. 
  
The Organization: Chavez Parkside is a public policy, college preparatory charter high school in Ward 7. An anchor in the
Parkside/Kenilworth community, our school has 500 students in grades 8-12. Chavez Parkside students achieved over 5
million dollars in scholarship and a 100% college acceptance rate. Parkside has a first-rate athletics program with champion basketball, volleyball, track and cheerleading teams. And we have over 50 community partners hosting students in the fellowship program. Chavez Parkside serves a high needs population of students and is committed to giving them the resources and support they need to be successful in college and in life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan and lead school-wide professional development and content team meetings to
ensure effective data analysis, monitoring scholar growth, and content
knowledge development 
· Create coaching plans, and professional learning opportunities aligned to school,
teacher, and scholar needs 
· Coach a portfolio of teachers to improve instructional practices through observation,
debriefing, lesson rehearsal, co-planning, co-teaching, and modeling effective
instructional practices for teachers 
· Ensure effective and aligned implementation of curricula and research/provide input
and feedback on curricular options to ensure that high quality products are put
in front of scholars 
● Select, develop, revise, and monitor implementation of rigorous curriculum aligned to CCSS 
● Develop and/or modify an integrated set of formative and summative assessments that are aligned to the
CCSS 
● Develop system for capturing, disaggregating, and sharing scholar data for individual teachers and
comparatively across the school
