    Title: Speech Language Pathologist Paraeducator

    Qualifications: *48 College Credit Hours or the ability to pass a State Approved Assessment within 90 days of employment.
    *Health certificate on file in Devin Center
    *Experience preferred, but not required

    Reports To: Supervising Licensed Speech Language Pathologist

    BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
    To provide speech services to identified students who have IEPs written by a licensed SLP.

    The employee performing the duties of this position is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, bend, stoop, and reach. The employee may be occasionally required to manually lift, move, or carry up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to interact with staff and meet the demands of several different people. The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    6. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Implement therapy plans that are provided by SLP related to the IEPs for identified students.
    2. Record progress of students for whom he/she provides services on speech logs in a timely manner.
    3. Attend one hour of monthly training provided by or designated by supervising SLP, as well as any additional training relative to his/her performance of responsibilities as designated by the supervisor and available funding.
    4. Attend IEP meetings when requested to do so by the SLP.
    5. Observe students in classrooms and gather report cards and current classroom performance information for identified students and students being assessed.
    6. Clerical assistance such as filing, copying, and creating therapy materials.
    7. Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding student, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state and federal laws.
    8. Strive to communicate the positive aspects of our school program to the public in word and deed.
    9. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Term of Employment: 9 months

    Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

    Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of one time per year.
