Position Title: Online Course Facilitator

Reports to: School Principal/Instructional Coach

Position Summary: Informed by the school's mission of preparing students for success in school, college, workplace and life, the Online Course Facilitator will develop a productive, positive classroom culture and ensure that all students move through online course content in a timely manner.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise students who are completing an online course.
  • Communicate with service provider when encountering difficulties with the online platform.
  • Follow protocols regarding the care and storage of laptops and other equipment.
  • Monitor reports from the online service provider to ensure that students are making adequate progress.
  • Conference with students experiencing difficulty with course content or motivation.
  • Conference with students regarding course progress and performance.
  • Implement accommodations for students with special needs.
  • Communicate with parents to resolve performance or behavioral concerns.
  • Development and implement a classroom management plan.
  • Enforce the student code of conduct and school wide disciplinary procedures.
  • Enter grades on a weekly basis using school policies and protocols.
  • Implement a back-up plan in the event that the internet is temporarily unavailable.
  • Communicate clearly with administrators, team members, counselors, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience working with students preferred
  • English-Spanish bilingual preferred
  • Strong technical skills (Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.)
  • Experience in urban education settings is preferred
