Summary: This Position coordinates instructional support services to assist schools in achieving desired student achievement goals. This position will work in support to the assigned Learning Community Superintendent to serve the needs of the schools and community in the specific Learning Community. Works across all areas of the District to ensure principals, school based support staff and teachers have access to the appropriate resources and supports to ensure student achievement goals are met in every school. Understands and provides supports to lead the work in schools to meet Strategic Plan Performance Indicators in every goal of the Strategic Plan.
Essential Duties: (These duties represent a sample and may vary by position.)
Provides day-to-day support and supervision of PreK-12 schools assigned to the learning community.
Serves as a facilitator in identifying and securing expertise and support services to principals, school based support staff and teachers to help them increase student achievement.
Serves as a coach/mentor to individual principals/assistant principals/teachers/literacy facilitators/academic facilitators.
Assists principals/assistant principals with current and desired conditions regarding district priorities in their schools.
Provides/arranges for professional development opportunities for principals, assistant principals and teachers as identified and requested by the Superintendent.
Meets with the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) regularly to discuss academic achievement in the community support needed to help schools reaching desired academic goals.
Meets with the Chief School Performance Officer and other Office of School Performance Senior Managers once a month to discuss benchmarks in attaining desired student achievement goals within schools located within the District and Learning Community
Assists the Community Superintendent in overseeing the Community functions and advise regarding functions and/or conditions that are inconsistent with district policy.
Serves as a representative of the Community Superintendent at district, state, public and governmental functions when necessary and appropriate.
Monitors fidelity of school implementation of district curriculum and program initiatives.
Works closely with the Professional Development Department to coordinate professional development.
Works closely with school leadership teams to develop and support school improvement plans.
Analyzes data and prepares reports to support the Community Superintendent in the work of ensuring every school meets their SIP goals and the District meets the targets in the Strategic Plan.
Works with other senior managers to develop and implement tactics in support of the Strategic Plan.
Works with other senior managers and district staff to develop policies, processes and systems in accordance with changing laws and conditions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
