OT, Occupational Therapist

Job Description:

Camelot Education, a leader in providing special education services, is recruiting creative, compassionate and caring individuals to join our team. We are seeking a certified Occupational Therapist for Northwest Center for Autism (NWCA) located in Genoa, Illinois.

Our NWCA campus provides services for children, adolescents and young adults, ages 3 through 21 with extraordinary needs including Autism, Multiple Disabilities and Other Health Impairments. Students are supported by a team of professionals that include School Administrators, Special Education Teachers and Paraprofessionals, Therapist and Related Service Providers.

The Occupational Therapist will recommend appropriate occupational therapy interventions for students based on individual student needs. This position will also be responsible for incorporating these OT strategies into the students' daily routine, creating sensory diets and training staff on administering a sensory diet when necessary.

Experience and Skills:

• Current Illinois Licensed Occupational Therapist
• Experience working with adolescents and children preferred
• Experience working with student with autism or on the autism spectrum preferred
• Experience working in non-public school programs preferred
• General computer skills and proven ability and working knowledge with Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong interpersonal skills and supervisory skills preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and/or confidential information
• Capable of leading meetings and preparing reports and/or planning documents
