TRAUMA-INFORMED COUNSELOR

RESPONSIBILITIES
Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) is seeking a Trauma-Informed Specialist that will develop quality trauma-informed behavioral health services responsive to network needs. This position requires experience providing evidence-based support and treatment to elementary and middle school level children.
Phalen Leadership Academies offers the Young Actors Theatre, self-empowerment program and an integral part of enrichment offerings with topics including bullying, violence, health, and technology. The Trauma-Informed Specialist supports this program as well as network at-large including individual treatment and group programming, conducting assessments using standardized measures, maintaining accurate and current case records, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, recording statistical demographic information for national database reporting support, and coordinating professional training. The person in this role will rotate and service an assigned group of schools on the east side of Indianapolis.

REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years (preferred) of post master's professional experience managing a behavioral health clinic or center working with traumatized children and families in a diverse urban area
- hold a license in counseling with experience working with traumatized children.
- Experience with reporting systems
- Experience in program planning, systems development, accountability, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent organizational ability, proven ability to establish and maintain positive community
