Job Description
JOB GOAL:
• To assure the smooth efficient operation of the Human Capital Services Department as it relates to employee relations, so as to maximize a positive impact on the education of students.

• To serve as a specialist for employee relations, employment law, policy interpretation, compliance and training.

• Act as a liaison to building Administration and employees with questions and concerns about employment helping to ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducts internal investigations regarding employee complaints and/or concerns.
2. Recommends resolutions for employee relation matters.
3. Provides guidance to Administration and staff regarding the resolution of work related matters.
4. Provides guidance to Administration and staff regarding District policies, procedures and regulations as they relate to employment.
5. Acts as HCS liaison to Administration as it relates to creating and promotion of a positive work environment.
6. Conducts training as it relates to employee relation matters to Administration and staff as needed.
7. Oversees all administration of employee leaves of absence including but not limited to: FMLA, SNLA MMLOA and all other type of contractual and non-contractual leaves of absence.
8. Responsible for workers' compensation claims submission and claim management.
9. Other duties as assigned by the Office of Human Capital Services.

Salary: $52,000 to $62,000 Per Year

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A minimum of five (5) years of Human Resource experience with a focus on Employee Relations.
2. Respect for confidentiality of all information is essential.
3. Strong knowledge of FMLA, MMLA, SNLA, ADA, CORI's, and Workers' Compensation required.
4. Familiar with employment laws including MA General Laws Chapter 71 preferred
5. Must demonstrate strong skills in both written and verbal communications.
6. Must be self-motivated and flexible with an ability to set priorities and work with limited supervision.
7. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and pay strict attention to detail.
8. Must demonstrate an ability to effectively interact with staff, applicants and the community.
9. Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with colleagues and supervisors based upon respect and commitment.
10. Must demonstrate an ability to maintain a professional office atmosphere.
11. Demonstration of a strong work ethic is essential.
12. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and MUNIS. An independent willingness to upgrade skills as necessary is expected.
13. Excellent attendance record is essential.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a non-union position.
WORK YEAR: Calendar year position.
WORK DAY: 40 hour work week
START DATE: Immediately
SALARY: $52,000 - $62,000 (depending on experience level and qualifications)
