Essential Functions and Objectives:

Implement a year-long, job-embedded Community of Practice (CoP) focused on understanding equity-based practices and generating ideas for change within mathematics courses. This CoP will offer professional learning and embedded coaching support around how to implement equity-based practices in mathematics and measure the results of this action in data-drive cycles of continuous improvement.

Supports the implementation of the Equity Based Math Practices program across a region of schools in partnership with the math and CRE teams.

- Provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiative.

- Assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.

- Ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products. Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.

- Identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management. Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district. identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement.

- With the regional superintendent and other regional specialists, engage in data-based strategic planning for the region\u2019s schools with the goal of ensuring implementation of culturally responsive teaching practices.

- Work with the regional superintendent and school teams to analyze student work and achievement data to adjust strategic planning and resource allocation at the regional and school level and plan and deliver supports prioritized to schools with the highest needs, which may include individual or group coaching, modeling, co-teaching and observation.

- Provide professional learning in culturally responsive practices for the region and its school teams to ensure progress on district priorities intended to improve teaching and learning such as rigorous standards-based instruction, culturally responsive schools and classrooms, data-driven instruction and personalized learning.

- Serve as a liaison among the regional superintendent, the region\u2019s schools and central office CRE team and Academics teams to ensure productive understanding and use of district policies, resources and professional learning. As the liaison, provide feedback to central office departments on school support and customer service.

- Support curriculum and resource development, develop and deliver district professional development and assist with professional development opportunities provided by central office CRE team.

- Maintain personal engagement in professional development that enables growth and improvement for this position.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- 5+ years\u2019 experience teaching and supporting teachers in an urban center.

- Valid teaching certificate.

- Knowledge with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.

- Effective time management and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines.

- The ability to take responsibility for one\u2019s own performance.

- Work collaboratively with others on a team.

- Aptitude for variety and changing expectations and fast-paced environment.

- Deep knowledge of culturally responsive education, instruction and equity preferred.

- Skill in implementing culturally responsive education practices preferred.

- Experience with ESL teaching and learning preferred.

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor\u2019s degree required.

- Master\u2019s degree preferred.
