Sr Business Analyst

About this role....

NWEA is looking for a Sr Business Analyst to join our Data Operations and Enterprise Quality team. This individual will be working on a team of Enterprise Analysts that are focused on tying our business capabilities directly to the partner value provided through our products and services. The Sr. Business Analyst will be working closely with our internal stakeholders to define organizational initiatives, document business capabilities, and process es, and to apply Business Analysis industry standards for quality results .

This individual must be a n experienced Business Analyst above all else. The candidate must be a strong meeting facilitator, highly organized, and able to professionally navigate a complex environment. An ideal candidate will have previous experience in the K-12 Education or Assessment industry.

Must haves...

  • Interact and communicate with staff at all levels of the organization to elicit, document and validate requirements for approved projects.
  • Create analysis deliverables -e.g., Context Diagrams, Process Workflows, Business Requirements Documents- to inform the stakeholder audience, both technical and non-technical, for the purposes of review and prioritization.
  • A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion; specifically, the belief that incorporating multiple perspectives leads to increased innovation and performance.
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and/or Visio)

  • Must have proven ability to quickly grasp NWEA processes and apply business analyst skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent listening skills and a commitment to communicate clearly, completely, and in a timely manner
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to changing business environments and shift styles depending on the situation. Pragmatic and flexible in approach to get the desired results.
  • Remains confident and 'cool under pressure' to perform in situations that are filled with more ambiguity than clarity.
  • A good relationship builder; exhibits integrity; trustworthy

Education and Experience...

  • Minimum of five years' experience as a Business Analysis/Product Owner.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in the K-12 Education or Assessment industry is preferred. Familiarity with education data standards (CEDS, SIF, Ed-Fi, QTI, etc.) is a bonus.
