The Education Specialist (ES) will be responsible for; developing and writing curriculum and teacher resources utilizing research based best practices, creating professional development tools for field staff, ensuring integrity of programming deployed to the field through ongoing interactions with end users as well as collecting and analyzing data to help drive the department strategic plan. The ES will need to build strong relationships with key field leaders to help support rollout and implementation of key education initiatives. The ES will also fulfill other education-related duties as outlined by the Director of Education Strategic Initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Design classroom environment and setup using planogram software. Support onsite school and classroom setup for all new builds and acquisition schools (requires nation-wide travel)
  • Execute curriculum training for acquisition schools, new builds etc. (requires nation-wide travel)
  • Curriculum development - The ES is responsible for writing new proprietary curriculum, enhancements to existing curriculum and teacher's guidance used to help school staff implement curriculum as intended.
  • Support the field with professional development (PD) - Drawing on their Early Childhood Education experience, research and academic background, the ES will develop and deliver professional development to our teachers and school leaders both in person and via WebEx and phone calls as well as develop PD tools that are imbedded in our curriculum. PD topics will include, but are not limited to curriculum implementation, quality and safety, tour readiness, teacher-child interactions, teacher-parent interactions etc.
  • Project Management - The ES is expected to execute portions of large projects and meet deadlines regularly as well as work with a degree of autonomy in the creation of proprietary LCG educational offerings. 
  • A strong ability to think critically and independently are essential to this role. 
  • Participates in on-site curriculum training for acquisition schools and new builds.
  • Meet/exceed the customer's (internal and external) expectations by understanding, anticipating and meeting customer needs. Exhibit proactive communication; act and think with customers in mind.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic and energetic with customers, co-workers, managers, and visitors.
  • Promote and project a positive company image; treats others with courtesy and respect.
  • Actively participate in the creation, development and implementation of tools and resources that will differentiate and strengthen Learning Care Group educational programs.
Requirements:
  • BA in early childhood education or related field required. Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching and/or leadership experience in the early childhood, Kindergarten or Early Elementary space
  • Previous experience in a licensed childcare center as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Director or Director preferred.
  • Experience creating professional development and training resources preferred.
  • Must be able to travel 25%
