  • QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires knowledge of relevant state rules and regulations; current accounting and budgetary principles; system and procedures of budgetary development and control; applicable laws, regulations, statutes, and other requirements that relate to financial activities and budgets of school districts; data processing concepts and procedures.
    Must possess the ability to interpret laws, rules, and regulations affecting school district budget activities; prepare and present oral and written reports; maintain cooperative working relationships with other members of the school district, other governmental agencies, and the public; analyze various financial information.
    Successful applicant must have the skill to develop and implement effective controls and procedures used to support and monitor the financial activities of the District; train, direct and review the work of others; provide timely compliance for various reporting requirements and related accounting standards; serve as a liaison between the District and other governmental agencies; assist in the preparation of the District's budget; interact with legal counsel; perform various internal audit functions within the District; prepare statistical and financial reports on various activities and operations; provide assistance with the issuance of bonds; direct and account for cash drawdowns from applicable debt instruments.

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Any combination of sufficient experience, training, and education which demonstrates the knowledge and abilities to perform the basic duties, functions, and responsibilities of the position. A college degree with a major in accounting is required. Successful completion of CPA exam preferred.

    A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.

    DUTIES OF POSITION: Participation in the planning, organization, and implementation of the District's financial system are required activities. This includes the creation of financial reports and reconciliation of such reports with the governing board's goals and objectives. The Director of Facilities Planning provides direct and indirect supervision within a broad framework of policies and procedures. Within this framework, independent judgment is required for assigned tasks and responsibilities. These responsibilities include the successful communication of results and methods to both accountants and others.

    STARTING SALARY: $7,089.51 (monthly)

    NUMBER OF MONTHS: 12 (to begin as soon as possible)

    NUMBER OF HOURS: 8 (daily working hours to be 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
