The Community Schools Manager will provide leadership in the areas of management and supervision for the Community Schools Strategy within the Office of Communications and Community Engagement. The Community Schools Manager will ensure effective implementation of the district's Community Schools Strategy policy through the monitoring of strategic action plan development, cross-departmental and interagency collaboration, and through a comprehensive training and development program.
A Community School is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources. Its integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement leads to improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities. Using schools as hubs, community schools bring together many partners to offer a range of supports and opportunities to children, youth, families, and communities.

Essential Functions
  • Provides leadership and oversight to ensure the implementation of a quality community schools strategy as established within the framework of the Community Schools Strategy policy and regulations.
  • Oversees the tracking of needs assessments and the monitoring of action plans developed by Community School coordinating committees, led by community school site specialists at designated schools.
  • Collaborates with internal and external organizations and committees to build tools and processes to support program quality and effectiveness.
  • Develops a comprehensive training and development program in collaboration with city and intermediary agencies to build the capacity of school and district staff to implement strategies and programming with fidelity.
  • Supports the assessment of program strengths and identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks/barriers to successful implementation.
  • Maintains consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders, including the Community Schools Steering Committee, to share updates regarding program success and partnership opportunities.
  • Monitors and analyzes data impacting long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcomes of the community school?s strategy.
  • Remains abreast of current research and policies related to community schools.
  • Leads the development of program reports, correspondence, promotional material and other documents in support of the strategy.
  • Attends all meetings and professional development training as required.
  • Provides ongoing support and accountability to district office and school-based community school specialists.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies, and the professional standards.


Maximum Salary 94500.00
Minimum Salary 84000.00
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor?s degree in human services, education, management, public administration, social work, counseling psychology, sociology, or other related fields (Master?s degree preferred).
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience preferred, to include experience in program management and supervision.
  • Experience managing programs in an educational, non-profit, and/or human services setting.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of government, non-profit and community based organizations and the schools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze program data and processes and develop solutions for challenges identified.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time and project management skills.
  • Ability to think creatively to improve program operations.
  • Understands and respects the diversity of families? economic, linguistic and cultural backgrounds and situations and demonstrates a high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with stakeholders.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and some weekends.
  • Ability to produce reports, correspondence, and presentations.
  • Knowledge of research-based strategies that support parent, family and community engagement
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain flexibility.
  • Skilled trainer with ability to develop comprehensive cycles of professional development for adult learners.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Google applications.
