Job Summary
Oversees school/community based programs and/or departmental activities for the assigned office. Plans and implements new and innovative approaches to youth development, departmental operations and/or academic support through programmatic systems, intervention sequences, preventative activities and multi-disciplinary safety supports for the students and schools targeted for the grants' initiatives. Ensures all programmatic activities are implemented with fidelity and that the programs are in compliance with School District policies and procedures and grant stipulations or Act 89 and Title I and II guidelines.
Essential Functions
School Organization & Management Specialty
  • Plans and implements activities which are designed to achieve the short and long-term goals for School Organization and Management
  • Provides guidance to departmental staff in the development of specific and coordinated work plans; ensures that activities are executed in accordance with established timelines.
  • Reviews and monitors the status of projects.
  • Develops training manuals, logs, and other documents for the academic team.
  • Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff and parents and provides assistance in a professional manner.
  • Researches, creates, inputs, formats, organizes and edits relevant data as needed or requested; inputs high volumes of data with accuracy.
  • Ensures that input and feedback from colleagues across the organization is solicited and incorporated.
  • Assists to set up tasks and sub tasks to ensure satisfactory realization of projects as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
School Organization & Management Specialty
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of full-time, paid, professional experience in the public or private sector which has included serving in a resource capacity to administrators.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • The methods and techniques used in effective program planning, design and administration.
  • Administrative and budgetary practices and procedures.
  • The current methods, processes and techniques utilized in the implementation of program initiatives.
  • The methods used to develop contracts and manage external resources.
Ability to:
  • Assess the effectiveness of programmatic or departmental activities and to make recommendations for modifications as needed.
  • Conduct research and analyze data.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Develop and facilitate presentations.
  • Use a personal computer.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • Challenges that arise in a large urban school district.
  • The methods and techniques used in effective program planning, design and administration.
  • The current methods, processes and techniques utilized in the implementation of program initiatives.
Ability to:

  • Develop and facilitate presentations.
  • Use a personal computer.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Additional Job Information: This is a 12-month, non-represented position. The salary grade for the role is 4024.
