The K-12 Math Curriculum Coordinator plans and coordinates the development of curriculum objectives for mathematics as well as generally oversees the development, implementation and assessment of teacher developed customized lessons, activities, assessments and tools for these grades.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below State ments are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position.     • Coordinates the development of math curriculum objectives for grades K-12; Monitors the implementation and evaluation of these objectives;
    • Plans and oversees teacher development and implementation of customized lessons, activities, assessments and tools for these grades including special populations; Evaluates effectiveness of the material;
    • Coordinates the process for selection of textbooks, equipment and instructional supplies for curriculum;
    • Mentors/acts as a resource to teachers by providing expertise and ongoing support; Conducts curriculum meetings as required;
    • Helps manage/advise on the curriculum budget;
    • Attends curriculum and other professional conferences.

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.

Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree AND
  • Three (3) year of teaching experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

    Certificates and Licenses: Valid North Carolina Teaching Certificate.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Working knowledge of State standards
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to pass required background check
  • Ability to travel for work
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience developing curriculum and assessment
  • Project management experience
  • Experience teaching or leading in an online setting
