RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY Provide support to Director, Planning and Property, Building Archives, the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team, and AutoCAD assistance to other staff and external customers. Perform the following duties: AutoCAD drafting, construction as-built document coordination, and architectural floor plan updates and changes. Other duties as assigned to support Construction Project Managers, and the GIS team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

AutoCAD drafting of floor plans and other documentation to support the work of the Department.

Assist the Geographic Information System team in creating and maintaining supporting documentation.

Support the District's Facilities Archives with creating and updating AutoCAD drawings, documenting changes, and maintaining access to the documents.

Research and modify existing AutoCAD drawings to keep the Department's floor plans up-to-date and accurate.

Work closely with the Project Management teams and others to update record drawings, provide design drawings, and perform site visits to document as-built conditions.

Assist in Archives construction project documentation, which may include coordinating drawings and assembling record documents for use by others.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High school diploma plus related coursework through a recognized business, vocational or community college. Sufficient Autodesk AutoCAD courses to represent a working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software.

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) or more years' experience in the use of technology tools with emphasis in Autodesk AutoCAD, GIS, MS Office, and other software. Knowledge of graphic design software preferred. Vocational training can be substituted for work experience.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Organizational, oral communication, written communication, interpersonal, basic mathematics, problem solving and analytical skill. In addition to AutoCAD, operating knowledge of and experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and GIS preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Autodesk AutoCAD certification or currently working towards the certification.

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position supports the Director, Planning and Property and the Planning and Property teams.

CONTACTS: Daily contact with persons in same work unit/building, persons in other departments/building, to furnish or obtain information. Monthly contact with staff in schools to furnish/obtain information.

SAFETY TO SELF AND OTHERS: Medium exposure to self to repetitive motion/stress due to extensive key boarding. Medium/low exposure to bruises and cuts due to typical minor office environment accidents.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The position requires extended periods of time at a computer station and extensive utilization of information displayed on a computer monitor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to compare, analyze, communicate, and use interpersonal skills. The employee is occasionally required to copy, coordinate, compute, synthesize, evaluate, and compile.

Choices fall within the range of specified, acceptable standards, alternatives, and practices. Decisions could affect the health and safety of students/staff and could cause financial loss to the District. Supervisor is involved in major decisions only. Makes general day to day office decisions

DIVERSITY OF DUTIES: The duties of this position cover a variety of responsibilities including skills to access numerous electronic files. Handle certain support services required in Planning and Property, interact with Facilities, Design and Construction, technical personnel and consultants, and understand basic design and construction documents.
