Purpose and Scope
Responsible for directing a staff and the efficient and effective operation of health services and school nursing.

Essential Job Functions
1.Provides direct technical assistance to Health School Teams in all schools within the district and completion of school health inventory annually (i.e., School Health Index.)2.Manages projects and initiatives in support of TN CSH grant scope of services.3.Provides ongoing professional development on comprehensive health education, nutrition, staff health promotion, physical activity, school climate, and other non-clinical health related topics.4.Organizes monthly and district-wide health observance campaigns.5.Supervises direct report(s) so as to effectively recruit, train, motivate, delegate, monitor and evaluate their activities, including hiring, firing, and disciplinary decisions. Provides staff with resources needed to successfully perform work. 6.Works collaboratively with other managers and management representatives in Coordinated School Health to achieve a system-wide result. Formulates local targets, goals, and activities that are in sync with and support the broader goals and objectives of the organization. Monitors district-wide action plan and milestones towards action step completion.7.Executes the responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards. Use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles.8.Assists in the development of a departmental budget; present, and defend program budget requirements as it applies to Coordinated School Health; oversees and submits program expenditures and prepares financial forms and reports.9.Directs the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned service, activities, and operations; provides for appropriate research and compiles reports, as needed.10.Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Education or Business plus an additional 2 years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of 6 years. Prefer health-related, family consumer science, nutrition, physical education, public health disciplines.
