Job Description:
This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations for the Maintenance and Custodial Services of nearly three (3) million square feet of school buildings, two (2) hundred acres of property and various special projects as identified by the Director. To include overseeing the preventive maintenance and supporting the repair of facilities operating systems, mechanical equipment, skilled work/repair, inspection/servicing of building operating systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and related facilities.

Responsibilities
Include:

• Assuming responsibility for the comprehensive overall planning and scheduling of maintenance and repair requirements of the district buildings
• Establishing an appropriate preventive maintenance plan and schedule, security systems and procedures and custodial requirements for each building and installation
• Works with the Manager of Maintenance Manager of Custodians and Director of Facilities to schedule and ensure regular inspections permits and filings are carried out to maintain code compliances
• Determining and establishing detailed bid and quote specifications pertaining to purchase of supplies, materials equipment and local contract work
• Preparing a draft and administering the approved budget for facility maintenance safety and security including supplies equipment and personnel
• Oversee building construction projects
• Communicates with staff educators Principals various departments outside organizations to provide and receive information assists with other departments related to work activities and attends meetings as required
• Oversees the repairs of boilers water samples chemical feeding and water treatment equipment and generators
• Works with outside contracted services prepares and maintains logs/records related to daily activities as required
• Trains and provides work direction and guidance to others learns and applies emerging technologies and advances (e.g. computer software applications) as necessary

Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering business or a related field or equivalent job experience
• Knowledge of HVAC systems
• Over five years' experience in facilities management (at least 3 of which shall be supervisory experience)
• A Certified Facility Administrator (CFA) and Mass. Certified Public Purchasing Officer (MCPPO) Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License desirable
• Supplemental courses training and/or education in a related field is desirable

Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000 Annually
Non-Union; 12 Months Position
