Since 2000, IDEA Public Schools has grown from a school of 150 students in Donna, TX to the fastest- growing family of tuition-free, public charter schools in the United States. In the Rio Grande Valley, we are a nucleus of four counties (Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy County) that work as one unit to support our children academically and holistically.
RGV is home to a population of just over 1.3 million residents. Children across the region truly benefit from IDEA's mission of college for all as only 1 out of 17 students graduate college-ready. Our mission holds true as we have 2,400 IDEA alumni that currently attend, or have graduated from, 150 colleges and universities across the country.

Role Mission: The Business Office strives to support the leadership at IDEA as we work together to meet and exceed our ambitious financial and student achievement goals.The Financial Planning Clerk will support the Financial Planning Team Managers to increase efficiency and provide high level support in meeting shared goals within the Business Office, HQ, Regional and Schools Team.

Upload a balanced budget by the start of the new fiscal year. Provide high quality onboarding for 100% of Business Clerks and quarterly professional development. Accountabilities
- Support campus, regional and headquarters budget managers and their staff during the annual planning and budgeting process.
- Support in building and updating rosters for the upcoming fiscal year by identifying errors and tracking revisions based on changes throughout the process.
- Support in collecting detailed budgets and ensuring requested budgets meet targets by fund and overall amount.
- Maintain consistent budget partner check points, with a focus on new Financial Managers and struggling teams.
- Contribute to the creation and maintaining of quality reference materials, such as the Business Clerk Playbook.
- Assist in developing and delivering high quality Business Clerk onboarding and ongoing professional development by coordinating and executing all training logistics. Partner with the CFO Executive Assistant to coordinate Business Clerk onboardings and professional development.
- Support the Business Clerk hiring process by screening candidates.
- Review and approve budget transfers requests submitted by financial managers.
- Create requested account strings in alignment with local nomenclature and Financial Accountability System Resource Guide (FASRG) rules.
- Manage and submit Financial Planning Team members' expense claims, reimbursements and per diems in Concur.
- Support Financial Planning Team projects and annual initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Education: HS diploma or GED
- Experience: 3-4 years in accounting and/or data analysis
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Ability to utilize Enterprise Resource Planning System databases and analyze data in Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively communicate financial goals, recommendations and results
- Hold ethics and values of data integrity to high standards
Compensation:
- Salaries for this role typically fall between $17.44 hr. and $21.80 hr. commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
